About
Engineering the Land
My name is Matthew Johncox. I founded this business in 2021 as a way to bring professional-grade equipment and precision to local land management or maybe it was to just have some fun playing in trees and dirt. The name and logo are inspired by a piece of land I fell for in northern Michigan that is on an island and on a cove.
My background is a bit different than most in this industry. I’m a former Tesla controls and software engineer, which essentially means I’m a professional troubleshooter. I spent years solving complex technical problems, and I bring that same analytical mindset to every job site.
When I’m on your property, I’m not just operating a machine; I’m looking at the "why" behind the project—whether it’s fixing a drainage issue on a driveway or safely extracting a difficult stump without disturbing the surrounding area.
How I work:
Precision: My engineering background means I prioritize accuracy and doing the job right the first time.
Problem Solving: I specialize in projects that require a bit more thought than just "digging a hole."
Reliability: I value clear communication and technical expertise.
I’m proud to serve Livingston County and the surrounding areas with integrity.
